THIS IS NO PEAK TIME MEDALLION - THERE ARE ONLY 140 HOURS TO WORK WITH. THIS IS SHEER OPPORTUNISM, AND A COMPLETE OUTRAGE.

YOU KEEP THE PUBLIC IN IGNORANCE OF THE DISPATCH FIX - SO YOU CAN DRIVE UP COMPANY PROFITS WITHOUT SOLVING THE PROBLEM BY ALWAYS FLOODING THE STREETS WITH MORE CABS. YOU MAKE THE DRIVERS WAIT EIGHT YEARS FOR A PAY RAISE AND ALLOW THE COMPANIES TO RAISE OUR FEES AND TO GET MEDALLIONS, MEANWHILE YOU KILLED THE GOOGLE MAPS OF TAXI DISPATCH.

IF THE PUBLIC KNEW THAT, YOU WOULD BE OUT OF OFFICE, EVERY DAMN ONE OF YOU. ONLY THE GENERAL IGNORANCE OF THE CAB INDUSTRY KEEPS THEM FROM REALIZING DISPATCH IS THE ANSWER - NOT MORE CABS.

MY BEST ANNUAL NET INCOME OF MY WHOLE LIFE WAS $37,000 AND NOW YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT AWAY. AND THE POLITICIANS AND COPS ARE ALLOWING UNPRECEDENTED NUMBERS OF BANDIT CABS. ILLEGAL OPERATIONS ARE EVEN ALLOWED TO CHARGE FEES DISALLOWED TO THE CAB DRIVERS, SUCH AS NO-SHOW FEES. IT'S ALL TERRIBLY WRONG!

THERE IS NO JUSTICE HERE. ALL THE TOWN HALL TALKS AND ALL THE PUBLIC MEETINGS ARE A COMPLETE AND ABSOLUTE SHAM. THERE IS NO POLITICAL PROCESS AT ALL. IT IS ALL A GODDAMNED LIE. THERE IS NO RESEMBLANCE BETWEEN ALL THE PLANS, DISCUSSIONS AND PROJECTIONS AND WHAT IS ACTUALLY DONE. YET AGAIN, THE ACTION IMPLEMENTED IS CHANGED AT THE LAST MINUTE AND SHOVELED AT US.

OBVIOUSLY, PLAYING BY THE RULES IS PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE POLITICIANS AND THE AGENCIES. OBVIOUSLY, SAN FRANCISCO SOLVES ITS PROBLEMS THROUGH THE USE OF CRIME.Christopher Fulkerson, Ph.D.http://christopherfulkerson.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2708859863717325805.post-80613877916951558552012-07-15T23:10:36.319-07:002012-07-15T23:10:36.319-07:00I'm generally in favor of the peak time idea, ...I'm generally in favor of the peak time idea, and I am also aware that there's no way it's going to be perfect. I know guys who've been on the list for years, and who would love an s.o.p., but have not been offered one. Even if awarding S-permits to people who never bothered to sign the list corrects one perceived injustice, it creates another perceived injustice. I don't know how to fix this.

All of the above is in the theoretical realm. But today on the street, I had a gut reaction to seeing the S-cabs. It was the typical deathly slow Sunday morning. Between 6:45 a.m. and about 10 a.m. I had just four or five short rides (including a young couple from a bus zone to whom I offered a free ride after I'd been driving around empty for 45 minutes). And then at 10:30 or so, in front of the Hyatt Regency, there was an S-permit cab right in front of me. My gut reaction was not a positive one. Sunday morning? What's a peak time cab doing out here on Sunday morning?

It's an imperfect plan for sure, but I hope it works out well down the road.

Thank you for the reporting, Ed.Brad Newshamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05798003856595278410noreply@blogger.com
