Hearings for Medallion Sales to Begin on June 4, 2010

Medallion sales could begin as early as June, 4, 2010. The first five potential buyers will be given a chance to present their cases for qualification at 1 pm on that day. If they are qualified, they will do the paperwork and presumably hold the medallion soon aferwards.

Contrary to rumors, Mark Gruberg's suit has not stopped the process.

You can keep updated on the progress of the sales at the Taxi website.

That's all I know.

More later I guess.

On the other hand, I've done what I set out to do and maybe it's time to put this blog to rest.

  1. I've spoken to Gruberg lately and he did not mention a suit.
Got any details on a suit being filed?

  3. Hi Hybels,

Gruberg tried to get an injunction in Superior Court to stop the qualification hearings today. He failed.

He later tried to stop the hearing themselves and once again failed.

I think that there will be a hearing on whether or not it was legal to overturn K.

I'm be writing a post on what happened today.

  4. Hi Dick,

    Thanks for the good word.

You are in kind of difficult place and I don't know what you should do.

Hayashi says that she is going to move that list rapidly. Watch and see how it plays out for the rest of the year.
